NEW 115 TLDI®
TECHNOLOGY MODEL RELEASED
The new 115 hp TLDI®
(Two-stroke Low-pressure Direct Injection)
is the largest outboard yet using this technology. Nissan also
has 90, 70, 50 and 40 hp TLDI®
engines, which combine
state-of-the-art air/fuel technology with a proven 2-stroke
engine for outstanding performance and economy. All TLDI® models
are compliant with EPA and CARB regulations.
Acceleration through the whole
range from low to high speed is extremely smooth and sharp.
Operation is quieter due to the reduction of air intakes from
three to one.
The TLDI®
system shatters fuel into
microscopic droplets and positions the fuel plume in the optimal
location in the combustion chamber at exactly the right time.
The tiny (10-micron-sized) fuel droplets burn more completely.
This cleaner burn benefits mileage and reduces emissions.
Easy
maintenance is also an advantage as no oil changes or valve
adjustments are required, unlike a 4-stroke. Another key benefit
over competitive 4-strokes is significantly lighter weight that
adds to the economy of the motor.
All TLDI®’s
are outfitted with an onboard self-diagnosis system, which
offers an extremely high level of engine safety. Features
include an audible overheat sensor and overspeed limiter at
6,000 rpms, a warning light and buzzer for both water
temperature and oil level, as well as a warning light for
battery voltage.
All TLDI®
models feature five-layer
corrosion protection, CD ignition, safety stop-switch and
lanyard-mounted cutoff switch. Power trim/tilt, thermostatically
controlled cooling system, through-the-prop exhaust and
start-in-gear protection are other standard features in all
Nissan Marine TLDI®
Outboards. A three plus one-year
limited warranty is included with all TLDI®
models.
25/30hp
4-STROKE WITH EFI TECHNOLOGY
Nissan Marine is
continuing to introduce their 4-stroke 25 and 30 hp
outboards—the industry’s first battery-less manual start
electronically controlled fuel injection outboards.
Nissan’s 25 and 30hp outboards are truly
innovative. They now use Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI)
technology, allowing for quicker starts in all weather
conditions, quieter operation, better acceleration and automatic
adjustments in elevation changes.
These models also introduce the industry's first
battery-less EFI system. Conventional EFI models must generate
their power from the battery through the key switch. However,
the Nissan system differs in that it receives its voltage
directly from the alternator, allowing the engine to be started
by the pull rope or the electric starter. The Nissan 25/30hp
includes the rope start as standard equipment on all electric
start models.
The CD ignition
system on the 25 and 30 is especially designed for immediate
starting in all sea and weather conditions. Depending on models,
both outboards come with either a manual gas assist tilt system
or a power trim and tilt system.
Their cross
flow induction design provides optimum power while the
three-cylinder system offers a smooth ride. The 25 hp and 30 hp
4-strokes respectively use 2.3 and 2.6 gallons per hour at 5500
rpms.
Nissan’s 25 and
30 hp 4-strokes also feature a number of safety devices,
including an oil-pressure alert light and an audible oil
pressure and overheat warning system, an over-rev limiter at
6300 rpms, as well as an overheat sensor and an oil pressure
sensor that limit rpms to 2800.
Nissan Marine
has also upgraded its five-step painting process. This
innovative approach to the painting process includes an
additional clear coat, providing superior protection for their
outboards.
Additionally,
Nissan 4-stroke models come with a 3-year limited warranty. |
